This beguiling, green stone is known to have an abundance of healing properties that can bring renewed health to the body, mind and soul. There are plenty of reasons why Green Jasper has been cherished since ancient times. Due to its ability to promote internal harmony and positivity, it’s a good stone to use for psychological and spiritual imbalances (more on that later). The primary Green Jasper meaning has a very balancing and calming effect that has led to its “Peace Love Crystal” nickname. With shades of green that range from light green to the deepest olive, Green Jasper is thought to have the ability to connect the user to the earth, water and nature. Green Jasper is considered by many to be the most balanced type of Jasper. These days, Green Jasper is still utilized as an important physical, emotional and spiritual healing tool due to the healing properties it possesses. ![]() The early Germanic people would use Green Jasper on venomous snake bites to neutralize the poison, and this stone was also used to ease childbirth, heal fevers and protect people from drowning.Īlso called “The Rain Bringer”, Green Jasper was used as a talisman for rain by both the ancient Greeks and early Native Americans. Some unscrupulous sellers try to pass off turquoise dyed Variscite as real Turquoise, in a similar fashion to dyed Howlite and Magnesite. However just to be clear, none of it is actually a Jasper, it is one hundred percent the mineral Variscite! We quite like that name because it is a good description of what you are looking at. ![]() To confuse matters more, undyed Variscite, which is actually a beautiful pale blue/green colour with a sandy-coloured web matrix, is usually sold under the trade name of ‘ Aqua Terra Jasper’. Confused? It really is a minefield out there and it’s a shame that we cannot just call it Variscite and have done with it! ![]() Imperial Jasper is actually a different type of Jasper altogether that has nothing to do with Impression Jasper, so that term should not be used to label this gemstone. It’s referred to as ‘Sea Sediment Jasper’, ‘Imperial Jasper’, or even ‘Emperor Jasper’ by some suppliers. Even though it is dyed Variscite, you will struggle to find a supplier that sells it under its correct name. The first thing to say about Impression Jasper is that it is a very confusing stone.
